is an Argentine political scientist and sociologist. He is Professor of Political and Social Theory at the University of Buenos Aires and a visiting scholar in multiple universities around the world. He is a former Executive Secretary of the Latin American Council on Social Sciences (CLACSO, 1997-2006), the author of many books on social and political issues, and a close advisor to several national governments and international development agencies.

Dr. Joan Bou Geli.

is a Catalonian economist and professor in Economic Policies and World Economy, with over two decades of research, university teaching and consulting experience in Latin America and Europe. He is the Coordinator of the Yvypora network, composed of several research centres from Spain and Latin America. His research and consultancy interests focus on economic policy, human development and participatory democracy in local and national governance.

Dr. Daniel Chavez.

is a Uruguayan anthropologist specialising in urban management and public services. He has been an advisor to various governments and a coordinator of several international development projects in Central America, the Southern Cone, the Andean Region and Southern Africa. He has published extensively on Latin American politics, participatory budget and public services reforms.

Fiona Dove.

collaborator

is an evaluation expert, specialising in the non-profit sector. She holds a BA degree in Industrial Sociology, a MA in Development Studies and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Monitoring & Evaluation Studies. Born in Zambia and raised in South Africa, her extensive international field experience includes nearly a decade with the South African trade union movement, and 16 years as Executive Director of an international research and advocacy institute in The Netherlands.

Dr. Patricia García Leiva.

is a Spanish psychologist. She is a Professor at the Department of Social Psychology, Social Anthropology, Social Work and Social Services at the University of Malaga. His academic and professional experience focuses on gender relations, political psychology, social policy, local development and participatory democracy. He has coordinated research and development cooperation projects in Spain and Latin America.

Albana Shala.

collaborator

is a Dutch-Albanian researcher and development practitioner, with ample professional experience in Central and Eastern Europe. She holds degrees in Foreign Languages and International Law and a MA in Development Studies. During the past decade she has been responsible for the design and implementation of programmes and projects in the Balkans and in the Caucasus region for Press Now, a development foundation based in Amsterdam.

Dr. Sunil Tankha.

is an Indian political scientist currently based at Erasmus University, in The Netherlands. He has broad research and consultancy experience in the areas of Energy and Environment, Economic Development, Public Policy, Public Management and Public Sector Reform, particularly in South Asia and Latin America.

Quima Oliver i Ricart.

is an expert in comunication and in childhood and youth programmes. UNICEF staff since 2000 in Montevideo and Barcelona, working as a consultant, researcher, head of youth participation programs, education and awareness projects and Communication Officer. Quima is a journalist and holds a MA in Euro-Arab Studies. She has worked as a journalist, university professor and aid worker in several countries, especially in Latin America.

Dr. Cristina Sánchez Miret.

is a professor of Sociology at the Universitat de Girona. She has a sustained research on equity and inequality of social opportunities, especially related to gender and social class. She has been director of the Catalonian Survey Panel on Social Inequalities and member of several research networks and advisory councils on gender, development, social services, and youth. Cristina collaborates with several media.
